1 million dollar Vet Charity giveaway
The brand wanted to giveaway one million dollars split among charities that supported veterans. Our task was to find charities and build a story around it. We decided to lean into a couple of different areas: mental health, employment, housing and entrepreneurship. I personally tapped into my background in research and began searching for charities, verifying their 501(c)(3) status and putting together a proposal document with a list of potential charities fitting into each category. It was from this document that our final 4 charities were chosen from.
A few charities shared with us the impact the donations had. Hire Heroes had their most successful year, resulting in 12,500 clients secure employment with starting salaries of $62,000. It enabled Operation Finally Home to build homes for three veterans and their families around the US. OFH builds mortgage-free homes for wounded veterans, first responders and their families.
